Video Production – Recent Work

Mike Tomlinson brings extensive experience in video production to any film-making project. This experience includes television documentary film-making as writer/director (see broadcast TV credits) and as lighting cameraman. Using the latest digital HD equipment, Mike commonly combines director/cameraman roles. We use broadcast quality large-format Canon C300 and Panasonic P2 camcorders.

For larger projects we frequently team up with James Tomalin and his crews at Oxford Digital Media. They have a green screen presentation studio in the centre of Oxford that we use for studio links with presenter/reporters.

Editing is performed in house with our own AVID post production equipment to offer cost-effective production packages to clients.

EXAMPLES OF RECENT VIDEO PRODUCTION:

NHS & Healthcare

As part of his ongoing media and communications work with the Department of Health's national network, NHS Elect, Mike Tomlinson has made a number of videos for NHS Trusts.

  • 'What is the Patient experience?', a staff training film for Derbyshire Healthcare [Watch video].
  • 'A Day in the Life of the GWH' for the Great Western Hospital, Swindon [Watch video].

We also work with independent sector healthcare organisations such as Nuffield Health.

European Journal of Cancer

In another ongoing project, working with medical journalist Helen Saul, we produce monthly video reports for the Elsevier publication European Journal of Cancer. In a style we pioneered for BBC Newsnight a number of years ago, we travel as a two person team to European centres of research to produce news reports on the latest findings and trial results.
